This six-week live online sewing intensive is designed for adults and experienced older teens who already know the basics of operating a sewing machine and are ready to learn reusable cloth pad construction.
Over six weeks, we'll work through fabric selection, pad anatomy, pattern preparation, absorbency, construction techniques, batch sewing, snaps, longer and heavier-flow pads, care, and troubleshooting.

The 6-Week Sew-Along
Week 1 — Understanding Your Materials
Learn the different layers used in reusable cloth pads, what each layer does, pattern preparation, fabric orientation, cutting, absorbency planning, and how to prepare your pieces for construction.
Live class: approximately 2 hours
Week 2 — Your First Cloth Pad
Construct a regular cloth pad from beginning to end, including layering, sewing, turning, topstitching, finishing, and preparing for snaps.
Live class: approximately 2 hours
Week 3 — Batch Cutting + Efficient Construction
Learn how to cut and organize several pads at once and begin using batch-sewing techniques to build your stash more efficiently.
Live class: approximately 2 hours
Week 4 — Heavy-Flow Pads + Absorbency
Explore core layers, fabric placement, absorbency planning, and construction considerations for pads intended for heavier menstrual flow.
Live class: approximately 2 hours
Week 5 — Longer + Overnight Pads
Move into longer pad sizes and learn construction considerations for nighttime and extended-wear pads.
Live class: approximately 2 hours
Week 6 — Finish Your Stash
Bring everything together with batch finishing, snaps, troubleshooting, unfinished projects, pad care, storage, laundering, and planning your future reusable pad stash.

Required Pattern
Students will purchase their required sewing patterns directly from Versodile before the first construction class.
The selected bundle contains two cloth-pad patterns with size options ranging approximately from 7 to 16 inches.
Pattern cost is approximately $5 and is included in tuition.
Every participant must purchase their own authorized copy.

Pattern purchase instructions and the direct link will also be provided to enrolled students. $5 will be reduced at checkout and must be purchased prior ro the start of the course.
Who Can Join?
Ages 16+
Participants ages 16–17 should either have basic sewing-machine experience or participate with an adult who can assist as needed.
Before enrolling, participants should already know how to:
- Thread their sewing machine
- Wind and load a bobbin
- Sew a basic straight stitch
- Safely use fabric scissors or a rotary cutter
Your sewing machine must be in working condition before the course begins.
Machine setup, maintenance, repair, and basic sewing-machine instruction are not included.
What You'll Need at Home
All students need:
- Working sewing machine
- Basic sewing-machine knowledge
- Fabric scissors and/or rotary cutter
- Thread
- Sewing clips and/or pins
- Marking tool
- Internet-connected device
- Workspace suitable for sewing
- Required patterns (included in total tuition cost)
Additional preparation information will be sent to enrolled students before the course begins.
How Many Pads Will I Make?
This course is about building the know-how to a reusable pad stash rather than promising one predetermined number of finished pads.
Your total will depend on:
- Pattern sizes selected
- Fabric width
- Absorbency configuration
- Sewing speed
- Skill level
- Practice completed between live classes
The goal is bigger than finishing a certain number during class.
You'll leave knowing how to make more.
Course Expectations
This is a hands-on sewing course.
Students should expect to complete some cutting, preparation, and sewing between live sessions to get the most from the program.
Live course time is dedicated to reusable cloth-pad construction and related instruction.
Basic sewing-machine operation and machine troubleshooting are not part of the curriculum.
Students are responsible for making sure their sewing machine is operational before class begins.
